2ptober: PRIZES

Ok guys. Let's get back onto a subject that's a little more interesting to YOU.

Thank you, tho, really from the bottom of my heart for your kind words regarding Charlie's terrible, no-good splint. As much as I would like to wallow in self pity about my precious unicorn needing surgery... well... there's a contest at stake here. And time is of the essence!

Per our contest announcement last Friday, Allison and I will be collecting baseline times through tomorrow (WEDNESDAY) at midnight. Obviously nobody is staying up watching the clock here to make sure you get your time in.... But like. Get your time in, m'kay?

I don't care if you literally just toss a saddle on your still-muddy horse just to log that time and hop back off again to get on with something else. It doesn't matter the how, why, where of getting your baseline - just the when. Without this one critical time, you cannot be considered eligible for winning any of the awesome prizes. So. Make it happen!

Because.... Yes, Prizes. Let's talk PRIZES, shall we???

in case you can't tell, i made this image in MS Paint. actual prizes may vary in appearances.
While the beautifully rendered MS Paint masterpiece above didn't come out looking quite as.... sexy omg as I had intended..... I still spent far too much time on it for what it is so it's what we're going with for prize graphics ok??? #sorrynotsorry

The gist is: Allison is a new co-host this year and brought a whole new fresh insight to prize offerings for Champions and Reserve Champions of the 2017 Two Point Challenge. Having been a front runner herself many times over the past years, she knows a thing or two about what two-pointers really want.

And what do they want? PAIN KILLERS and therapeutic BATH BOMBS lol. But like, that's kinda insufficient in and of itself, so she suggested we also add in some custom embroidered saddle pad emblazoned with your Champion / Reserve Champion status.

stall rest 2.0: dis how we get swelling out so we can operate on that damn leg
So there ya have it, folks! We are awarding Champion and Reserve Champion titles in two divisions: Longest Time & Most Improved. Limit one title per entrant so FOUR unique winners will be awarded!

And each winner will receive the above custom embroidered saddle pad (we'll have more details on what this pad will actually look like soon) plus some soothing fizzy bath bombs and good ol' aspirin lol. What more could a horse person want??

god i love this horse tho

So. Again. Not to beat a dead horse (Charlie ain't dead yet!!), but should you have even the slightest inclination to get your hands on that prize pack, get your baseline time in by tomorrow (WEDNESDAY) at midnight.

In the meantime, Allison and I have done our best to collect all your commentary from our respective blogs to determine who wants to participate, and who has already logged a baseline. This is reflected in the table below.

Please double check all the information (including your name and blog title as you wish them to be represented) to make sure we've got everything correct. And if you don't see a baseline time reflected please get it to us!!

AND!!! There's more, of course. There's always more haha. One of the BEST things about 2ptober is this whole "community" aspect. Even if you're not participating, take a good long look through that list above to see if there are any new-to-you blogs to check out!

Happy two-pointing, everyone!

  7. I will try to get a time. However, Cosmo has had almost 3 weeks off, so I might die. Not dying takes precedence even if I do want the saddle pad.

    Also, I do have a blog. https://itscosmicblog.wordpress.com/

  9. Awesome prizes! I'm hoping to do my baseline tomorrow after work. I could do it on Henry bareback tonight but that would feel like cheating hahah, would probably be like 1 second because I have no stirrups. But Mystic does have stirrups on her western outfit so will do it then :)

    1. yea bareback is definitely a next level type intensity lol, but whatever it takes, right????

  10. I did mine Sunday and damn that was hard lol. I got 3:00 minutes as well. Also, you can put me down as Mandy. (I don't think I've ever put my name down anywhere so no one probably knows what it is lol!) Here's to a crazy 2ptober!

    1. ok so you HAVE actually put your name down somewhere and i was like 87.5% positive it was Mandy -- but then i went digging through all your posts trying to confirm and couldn't find it anywhere lol, thanks for clarifying!! nice baseline and thanks for playing!

    2. Hahaha! I've so done that too! Digging thru posts to make sure I have a name right lol I'm excited to play!

    1. I feel like there should also be a senior division version of this for "my senior horse thought this was stupid and dumped me." Asking for a friend.

    2. Or one for Dressage Divas??? :D

      Delete
    3. omgggggg guys plz no getting bucked off or dumped or otherwise parting ways with your equine partners!!!! heels down!!!

    5. omg srsly, y'all are brave for doing this on babies and rehabbing ponehs, tho then again that's definitely a good way to make use of that slow and steady work!

  15. Ok my starting time is 2:12.

If I write a post advocating for a "bouncing babies" 2ptober prize, can there be an additional saddle pad for those of us who have always wanted to win one but prooooooobably won't be in the running for the main prize?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. haha you never know - Ms ZoeBird may surprise you yet! but we shall see about secondary prizes lol. probably won't be a saddle pad tho, sorry! only your sweat, tears, and burning muscles can win you one of those!

  17. Well, assuming my position was close or correct enough, we held this for a magnificent 2.47!!! Lol, well... here's to improvement!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. great!! and i'm not too picky on correctness of position. the most important parts are that your seat must not touch the saddle and you may not lean on your hands. either of those things means you need to restart the clock! otherwise tho it's a chance to really dig in and practice getting your position to feel as solid and secure as possible!
