sunday snaps

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! It's rainy and dreary and cold here, so we had the pleasure of lessoning in a PACKED tiny indoor.

Don't get me wrong - I'm grateful for having weekly access to an indoor... but it got a little overwhelming yesterday, and Isabel pulled out some of her nopes lol.

'nope' - Isabel

It was actually a pretty ok lesson more or less - tho Izzy was a bit backed off between the roar of rain on the roof and the activity of 10 horses, 5 people on foot, and 2 dogs...

This is the first time I've caught a fall (or at least most of it) on video tho - and I gotta admit, it's kinda hypnotic lol. (And no worries - landed on my feet after what must have been the slowest of slo-mo falls in all of history, thanks to Izzy for stopping and patiently waiting for me to drop).

she's on high alert

So the rule is that if ya fall off, you're on donut duty for the next week... lol. Any recommendations on what I should bring in?

In any case, just thought I'd throw this bit of humorous footage at the internet on a dreary Sunday. Stay tuned for a full recap (with loads more media) later this week :)

  1. Ouch, hope it was a soft landing. That def sounds like an uber busy arena no wonder Diva Iz showed up to play.

    1. i'm glad it wasn't bad too - esp with all those standards right there. fortunately izzy took pretty decent care of me (aside from the whole running out thing lol)

  4. I'm sorry but I will admit that I laughed before I stopped myself, checked you were ok then went back to laugh again, mainly because I can literally imagine that being me and Sunny because Iz looks so like him, the was she's just 'No thanks'

    1. haha laughing at that gif is A-OK - i definitely laughed a bit too. once i string together all the video clips, you'll get the added bonus of hearing the initial squeal from my trainer - followed by another more prolonged squeal bc it really took forever for me to actually part ways with the horse...

  5. I have such a hard time riding when my little arena has more than 2 other riders... I have been riding in an arena by myself for years! I'm not used to having to navigate around other horse/rider pairs. Glad you weren't hurt! :)

    1. crowded arenas definitely make things more complicated... i'm pretty used to larger groups - esp if we're all in a lesson together (and going the same direction), or the other riders are all in a lesson (therefore going the same direction) and i'm schooling around them. this scenario was six lessoners and four schoolers and it was MAYHEM haha

  6. I've decided when I fall like that it's actually a fancy dismount, not a fall lol.

    1. i may adopt that terminology!!! or maybe call it something like an 'unplanned' dismount lol

  7. I love the GIF, LOL.

Sorry to hear you had a fall - although I'd be hard pressed to call it a "fall" since you landed on your feet!!

  13. Iz looks full of the nopes. :) Glad you landed on your feet! My vote is plain yeast doughnuts and dark beer, because ... omg. Best combo ever.
