wild charlie out in his winter (?) wonderland <3 |
consistently comfortable on that hoof, despite being barefoot! |
the Last Wrap omg |
bc he's back in shoes, baby!! |
meaning i get to wear shoes too --- riding shoes omg |
with even a little daylight to spare for our first ride back!! |
my iphone's approximation of "sunset colors" isn't particularly vibrant lol, but i'll take this view any day of the week |
riding back to the barn in the dusk --- next time can't come soon enough! |
Yay!

DeleteHooray!!!!! So happy for you and Charlie, that has to feel great!!!
ReplyDeleteFeels great lol, the horse is WILD omg
DeleteI can only imagine!! I was pretty grateful Ben's stall rest shenanigans were during JUNE and JULY, cannot get any more calming weather than 90 degrees with 90 percent humidity.
Deleteso.... not gonna lie, WILD charles is my FAVORITE charles haha <3 <3 if i could have him this "spicy*" all the time, i'd be one happy camper
Delete(*and by 'spicy' i mean, mildly ready to proceed in your preferred direction at a slightly brisk pace)
Oh that's awesome then! Ben's version is to spook like a mofo at any movement (or stationary object we've walked past millions of times before) and then proceed to tighten his back and jig for the next forever 😝 which is negative fun.
DeleteWow!! That is a great blog surprise! I’m sure it felt amazing to be on your big guy. So did the sole come off all the way? I’m so happy for pads and shoes!
ReplyDeleteSo the sole didn’t come off the way I was expecting AT ALL, instead of like peeling or flaking off, it was kinda crumbling into a powder and chunking off in places. At the end of the day, tho, my vet cautioned against removing too much of it bc we don’t actually know how much growth is underneath. Rather, bc he’s been comfortable in turnout, she felt it was safe to move forward with shoeing and adding a protective pad, but my farrier was conservative in the trim and left him a little long just to play it safe.
DeleteThat is so interesting! I had a TB with awful flat feet. He had pads on the fronts, too. It’s so wonderful when you have a farrier that can help with complicated feet! Hooray, Charlie!
DeleteThis makes me soooooooooooo happy <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteME TOO :D
DeleteYay! There should be cake.
ReplyDeletethere should always be cake <3
DeleteI second the comment about cake and I'd like to add cocktails, as well!
ReplyDeleteand yes please, always cocktails too!!
