If we've learned anything from the Depp v Heard trial, it's that... omg celebrity tabloid trash trials are hardcore my favorite new reality tv good clear representative photos can be extremely helpful.
And, of course. Every horse owner is, at some point or another, tasked with taking said representative photos of some injury or another for consultation with a vet. Right?
So. Let's talk about what makes a "good" photo for a vet. Step 1: Collect your specimen.
"your WHAT??" -- charles |
ex: are we trying to take a pic of his knee or his knose ?? this is why focus matters, kids! |
ok so the nose knows, but..... so what? |
Sir. Please. |
Sure.... Maybe we're still wasting our vet's time, obviously. But ya know. At least the vet feels confident about it!
poor baby! |
(Even if all signs pointed to it being related to the scrape right on top of his face... Homebody probably just banged it on something ugh lol)
"well. that was anticlimactic." -- charlie murray (also, wowza it took reviewing these pictures to realize how much that brand new halter stretched!) |
And in the meantime, lemme know if I missed any crucial tips and tricks for taking good pics for your favorite vet!
I usually manage the ideal "finger in front of camera like I'm 80 and have never cell phoned before" shot at least once as well, I recommend trying it!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for better variety of excitement soon! Ben is still nursing his at this point. UGH!
Ah yes the ever present finger bomb… lol I still remember excitedly getting back developed photos from the drug store only to discover that friggin finger in EVERY SHOT, blocking one of the Norte Dame towers or some other iconic landmark lol…. Ugh classic
DeleteHope that he's okay and y'all get to do fun stuff again!
ReplyDeleteThanks hopefully soon!! It’s always something with these animals lol….
DeleteRemembering your phone when you try and take pictures of said ding is also important... Because mine tends to be in the house whenever a certain bay horse has a new cut that I'd like to photograph. It's in my pocket the rest of the time. Obviously this is a ME problem, but still... We've been dealing with a leg cut (nothing crazy) that he kept opening up (itchy) until I tossed a fly boot on. Turns out shoofly boots are great to put over cuts and scrapes! I never did get a photo of said cut...
ReplyDeleteoh man, my phone is practically surgically attached to my hip at all times... tho i can def see how it could be different if the horses were right outside in my back yard! and ugh i hate persistent lower limb cuts that don't wanna heal, glad the fly boots helped! i've lately been obsessed with blu-kote bc of how well it seems to dry out those sorts of things
DeleteLol! Oh Charles... stop banging the noggin!
ReplyDeleteShiny gave herself a bloody news a couple months ago too. We thought she might have been kicked but upon video review she just hit her own head on her stall door. Mares.
the horse i rode in college did that to himself too and gave himself a permanent goose egg right in the middle of his face, ugh haha....
DeleteGood advice. Now do one about sales photos.....
ReplyDeleteomg omg, great idea!!! so many amazing ideas already, omg and so many *excellent* fotos to choose from even here on ye olde blogge --- but how to decide?? surely gotta have one of him looking all clubbed footed and downhill.... hrm, and definitely one of his classic stumblesplat moments in the dressage court. surely we'd throw in a closeup of those knobby bejeweled stems, ooh ooh and maybe one of him with all four legs on the ground on either side of a jump?? BOOM. perfect ad!
DeleteThat was going to be my exact comment ! lol
