And also this too, bc obviously.
And what the hell, let's also toss in a couple cats who prefer not to be touched. Just for good measure.
*This may or may not be my reaction when yet another random colleague stops me in the hall (thus disrupting whatever pitiful momentum I've mustered on the evil crutches, ugh) to tsk tsk me, saying 'now what on EARTH did you do to yourself!?!' ughhhhh.
"you fell down?"
"how did you fall??"
"oh, just taking a step?"
"guuuurrrllll!"
fuck. my. life.
***Obviously also gotta give a shout out to the equally numerous colleagues who stop by on their way to the kitchen to ask if they can freshen my coffee or water. thanks guys!
this somehow reminds me of L Williams' many fancy coffee pics lol |
That first cat gif is freaking hilarious. Love it.
ReplyDeletelolz i relate pretty hard to it ;)
Deleteha. hahahahaha. Poor Emma! We installed one of those stair-chairs for my husband's grandparents a few years ago. They're the bomb. You need one.
ReplyDeleteomg i want one soooo bad!!! haha. tho actually the stairs get a little easier each time.... but still!
DeleteI had someone recommend non-standard crutches.. I'll look and see what they are at work today.
ReplyDeleteI fractured a teeny-tiny bone in my foot falling down my driveway last spring. My sympathies!
yea i spent a while talking about options with the specialist since the crutches are such a huge pain. sadly, given my lifestyle, injury and living situation, he didn't think the other styles of crutches would be appropriate. i WILL be getting one of those little knee scooter thingys for the office tho. yay!
DeleteGuuuuurrrllll (lol) the constant questions would make me want to kill someone. Or at the very least smack them upside the head with a crutch.
ReplyDeletelolz pretty much!!! i mean, obvi i'm trying to be positive and gracious... but ugh it gets a little old sometimes too :)
DeleteEveryone assumes you feel off horse? (Proceeds to tell you how they were bucked of at 5 and don't do horses since).
ReplyDeleteI think you're story should change each time.
1) rescued squirrel family from burning tree
2) forced to walk plank at Disney world pirates of carribbean
3) failed tight roping school
4) rode unicycle off roof into trampoline into pool thru ring of fire
5) denied Izzy treats, BBHMC (b***** better have my carrots)
6) I could really go on and on....sorry

omg yaaaaassssss haha. denying izzy treats is definitely not unrealistic haha, but really i *should* incorporate more rings of fire or burning trees in my stories. everything is better with fire, right? lol :)
Deleteok as a quick update - i've totally been using "rescued squirrel family from burning tree" now and it's incredibly satisfying as a story, esp when people look at me a little sideways like, "REALLY?!?" hahah. hahahaha. thanks for the idea!
DeleteThis is f-ing hilarious. Those cat gifs just slayed me.
ReplyDeleteugh i hate all of the unwanted attention crutches bring... I despise being a spectacle and having to ask for help- both things that injuries force you to do over and over again. I'm with NHW, just tell them something completely different each time!! lol
haha i've been hanging on to those gifs for a while waiting for the right opportunity to post. glad you like them! but yea, the unwanted attention is something i struggle with anyway, crutches or no crutches, so this is definitely pushing my buttons. some people are naturally very graceful and gracious but... that's not me! ha
DeleteYou just need a sign "I stepped. It broke. F*#$% off." OOhh, and the chair lift. That right there is good clean fun!
ReplyDeletehaha good idea - tho i was thinking more along the lines of "fell down, went boom" lol. but yea, that chair lift looks like a freakin miracle maker to me. if i could get one of those and a golf cart i think i'd be alllll set!
DeleteHAHAHAHAHA well I completely laughed out loud at the chair lift meme and now my coworkers are giving me funky looks, 'funny client guys...' err...
ReplyDeletelolz yessssssss!!!!
DeleteRAGE COFFEE
ReplyDeleteAlso I love Maru stuck in the little cat clawing hut, Maru videos are gold
haha i love his shocked little expressions!!!!
DeleteI don't even understand that last one.. but it made me laugh an unreasonable amount today. So, thanks
ReplyDeleteLolz my sentiments exactly
