Thank you, tho, really from the bottom of my heart for your kind words regarding Charlie's terrible, no-good splint. As much as I would like to wallow in self pity about my precious unicorn needing surgery... well... there's a contest at stake here. And time is of the essence!
I don't care if you literally just toss a saddle on your still-muddy horse just to log that time and hop back off again to get on with something else. It doesn't matter the how, why, where of getting your baseline - just the when. Without this one critical time, you cannot be considered eligible for winning any of the awesome prizes. So. Make it happen!
Because.... Yes, Prizes. Let's talk PRIZES, shall we???
in case you can't tell, i made this image in MS Paint. actual prizes may vary in appearances. |
The gist is: Allison is a new co-host this year and brought a whole new fresh insight to prize offerings for Champions and Reserve Champions of the 2017 Two Point Challenge. Having been a front runner herself many times over the past years, she knows a thing or two about what two-pointers really want.
And what do they want? PAIN KILLERS and therapeutic BATH BOMBS lol. But like, that's kinda insufficient in and of itself, so she suggested we also add in some custom embroidered saddle pad emblazoned with your Champion / Reserve Champion status.
stall rest 2.0: dis how we get swelling out so we can operate on that damn leg |
And each winner will receive the above custom embroidered saddle pad (we'll have more details on what this pad will actually look like soon) plus some soothing fizzy bath bombs and good ol' aspirin lol. What more could a horse person want??
god i love this horse tho |
So. Again. Not to beat a dead horse (Charlie ain't dead yet!!), but should you have even the slightest inclination to get your hands on that prize pack, get your baseline time in by tomorrow (WEDNESDAY) at midnight.
In the meantime, Allison and I have done our best to collect all your commentary from our respective blogs to determine who wants to participate, and who has already logged a baseline. This is reflected in the table below.
Please double check all the information (including your name and blog title as you wish them to be represented) to make sure we've got everything correct. And if you don't see a baseline time reflected please get it to us!!

AND!!! There's more, of course. There's always more haha. One of the BEST things about 2ptober is this whole "community" aspect. Even if you're not participating, take a good long look through that list above to see if there are any new-to-you blogs to check out!
Happy two-pointing, everyone!
I shall watch this and enjoy the entertainment thanks! But how cool those prizes are and Charlie is a SAINT :) (Well he would be a saint if he would stop banging himself up LOL). I vaguely remember following along at last years 2pointober but now i know so many more people! Good luck all!
ReplyDeleteyay for finding new blogs!! wish you were playing the game too tho ;P
DeleteI am going to get my time in this evening after work. Super exciting prizes and what a fun contest.
ReplyDeleteexcellent!! we're excited about the prizes too :D
DeleteI got my baseline of 2:09 and might've taken an epsom salt bath last night to recover
ReplyDeleteha awesome time and i totally feel ya on that epsom salt soak!!
Delete0:25 baseline for me!
ReplyDeletegreat, thanks!!
DeleteSo I'm a dummy and really pushed myself for my baseline, and it's 5:04!
ReplyDeleteno pain, no gain, right??? that number can only go up!!
DeleteAwesome! P gets a well deserved rest day today so I'll be sure to get mine tomorrow.
ReplyDeletesounds good - don't forget!!!
DeleteGetting mine tomorrow! FYI my blog changed - I'm over at marescara.com now!
ReplyDeleteomgosh all this time i've been missing your posts!!!! how is that possible?????? updating all my links now, thank you for telling me!!!!
DeleteI will try to get a time. However, Cosmo has had almost 3 weeks off, so I might die. Not dying takes precedence even if I do want the saddle pad.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I do have a blog. https://itscosmicblog.wordpress.com/
oooooh thank you for the blog link!!! i had looked on your blogger profile -- might be a good idea to add that as your "website" there so we blogger folk can find you!
Deletealso tho, plz no dying for 2ptober!!! maybe just get on long enough to squeak a time out?? i hear 8 seconds is the time to beat?? lol!
Good idea. I will get that updated, and maybe like actually blog or something.
DeleteI made it 2 minutes and I didn't die.
yay for no dying!
DeleteI'm getting mine tomorrow! And thanks for all the links above! I love finding new blogs!
ReplyDeleteomg i love new blogs too! and am happy you're blogging again especially! don't forget your time tho!!!
DeleteAwesome prizes! I'm hoping to do my baseline tomorrow after work. I could do it on Henry bareback tonight but that would feel like cheating hahah, would probably be like 1 second because I have no stirrups. But Mystic does have stirrups on her western outfit so will do it then :)
ReplyDeleteyea bareback is definitely a next level type intensity lol, but whatever it takes, right????
DeleteGetting mine tonight
ReplyDeleteyesssss :D
Delete5mins 25 seconds
Deleteget out.
Deletelolol nice work L!! ;)
DeleteI did mine Sunday and damn that was hard lol. I got 3:00 minutes as well. Also, you can put me down as Mandy. (I don't think I've ever put my name down anywhere so no one probably knows what it is lol!) Here's to a crazy 2ptober!
ReplyDeleteok so you HAVE actually put your name down somewhere and i was like 87.5% positive it was Mandy -- but then i went digging through all your posts trying to confirm and couldn't find it anywhere lol, thanks for clarifying!! nice baseline and thanks for playing!
DeleteHahaha! I've so done that too! Digging thru posts to make sure I have a name right lol I'm excited to play!
DeleteI'm going to try and participate this year.
ReplyDeleteyesssss please do!!
DeleteIs there a consolation prize for "my baby horse is not real good at steering so i fell off"? I feel like that might come up.
ReplyDeleteI feel like there should also be a senior division version of this for "my senior horse thought this was stupid and dumped me." Asking for a friend.
DeleteOr one for Dressage Divas??? :D
Deleteomgggggg guys plz no getting bucked off or dumped or otherwise parting ways with your equine partners!!!! heels down!!!
DeleteOr "my rehabbing horse teleported and forgot to take me with her"? Right there with y'all. Fingers crossed, mane ready to be grabbed!
Deleteomg srsly, y'all are brave for doing this on babies and rehabbing ponehs, tho then again that's definitely a good way to make use of that slow and steady work!
DeleteCan never have enough saddle pads!
ReplyDeleteMy baseline is 1:11.
yess i feel the same way about saddle pads -- and have never won a custom pad, so i'm excited to offer it as a prize!
DeleteHow exciting! I'm pretty pumped to participate again this year :D
ReplyDeletei'm excited to have you participating too!!!! :D
DeleteOk my starting time is 2:12.
ReplyDeleteIf I write a post advocating for a "bouncing babies" 2ptober prize, can there be an additional saddle pad for those of us who have always wanted to win one but prooooooobably won't be in the running for the main prize?
haha you never know - Ms ZoeBird may surprise you yet! but we shall see about secondary prizes lol. probably won't be a saddle pad tho, sorry! only your sweat, tears, and burning muscles can win you one of those!
DeleteMy baseline is 4:07!
ReplyDeletenice work!
DeleteMy best time was 0:32!
ReplyDeleteexcellent, got it!
Deleteheyooo my baseline is 3:13!
ReplyDeletewooooo hooo, no splintzilla for you this year!
DeleteWell, assuming my position was close or correct enough, we held this for a magnificent 2.47!!! Lol, well... here's to improvement!
ReplyDeletegreat!! and i'm not too picky on correctness of position. the most important parts are that your seat must not touch the saddle and you may not lean on your hands. either of those things means you need to restart the clock! otherwise tho it's a chance to really dig in and practice getting your position to feel as solid and secure as possible!
Deletehey there! I'm getting in under the wire!!
ReplyDeleteMy baseline is 4:40!
Thanks!!
excellent, got you added on the list!!
DeleteOk, I tested mine as warmup for XC. Ouch. Only made it 2:37 :(
ReplyDeleteha that's better than i can do right now!! got it noted!
DeleteAnnnddd in at the wire (thanks to an 8pm lesson!): 2:02!
ReplyDeletegreat, gotcha down!!!
DeleteMy baseline is 2 mins 24 seconds! Hope I'm not too late
ReplyDeleteyou're in!
