For Sale: PS of Sweden Softy Reins

Update: reins are sold!

PS of Sweden softy reins, cob-sized (52"), black with silver hardware. Selling for $50 shipped (in the US, international shipping may be more).

"action shot" (note: bridle not for sale)
Reins are English leather with stops and have PS of Sweden's unique elastic cradles at the bit attachments.

These "elastic cradles" are an extra loop inside the ends that you can use to buffer the contact between hand and mouth. Please see in the image below that the elastic shows signs of wear.

Or, if you and your horse decide the elastic cradle is not working for you, it's easy to snip off without affecting the reins.

The reins are thin, flexible, and super soft and grippy. Personally I've LOVED these reins but must finally accept that they're just not the right size for Neck Monster Charlie.

These reins are sold in used condition and as such are slightly warped and twisted when loose. See the above image - reins do not lay flat. This does not affect their use, tho it sometimes means it takes a moment longer to ensure I don't have any actual twists in the reins.

Please take care to look at the higher resolution images linked above. If you are interested, email me at fraidycat.eventing at gmail. I will respond to emails in the order in which they are received, and will try to be prompt!

  1. love my ps sweden reins. I am very tempted to get a black set (I have brown right now). I also have a PS sweden bridle which is brown BUT I do have the Eponia black/brown bridle and these would match that. Those are very lovely reins and they are so great for jumping. there is a real give and take when you are riding with them and you never lose contact with them like some other slippery reins. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Ps why you selling them? Charlie's neck wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too long :)

    1. In all honesty they were fine in length for Charlie while we are working but during breaks he likes to drag his nose on the ground and .... These just didn't work haha

    1. Oh man if they were brown I would probably have to keep them even if they are too short haha. Oh how I have drooled over some of those brown PS bridles too! I know patent isn't everyone's thing but I really love their big fat patent brown leather nose ands...

    1. i had a feeling they would go fast - they're nice reins in pretty good shape priced much lower than what they cost new. i basically begged for the former owner to sell the bridle and reins to me last year haha

  7. WHEW thank you for not making me buy more accessories for my horse LOL Enjoy the new reins. I really do like them. Mine are at least 2 years old now and still holding strong! (And they have been through some crazy rain storms last year at events! :))
