Our trail ride this weekend was so beautiful. Only one TROT rider ended up coming, so our group included 3 horses - two arabs and a Tennessee walker. We covered a LOT of ground at a pretty speedy clip lol. The weather was perfect, the foliage (or what's left of it) was colorful, and the horses were all in excellent form. Isabel led the way out, and the other two horses took turns leading home. Such a relaxing and enjoyable ride! Please enjoy the photo spam :)
she really does love it - tho interestingly this was also our first trail where she was actually out-walked! and, even better - she didn't care and was happy to lag behind (so we got to sneak in a few canters to catch up, fun fun)
all the water crossing (and there are many) are just so so pretty. (that's part of why i'm so surprised isabel has issues with water out on xc... but i guess that's another story)
Looks like a super fun ride! Sometimes having fewer riders actually makes it more fun. I love all the pictures. She has such cute ears and such a pretty mane. :)
thanks - and i couldn't agree more. trail rides are always a great break from the routine, but something about the fall season makes them seem very special
That looks like such a gorgeous place to ride!
ReplyDeletewe are *so* lucky that our barn property adjoins this state park... it's soooo beautiful

she was so happy to be out - it had been over 3 wks because of our show schedule. poor thing needed the mental break :)
DeleteBest time of the year for trail rides! I see what you mean, Izzy really does march along when leading haha
