Amazing how much quieter my weekends are these days, but we still managed to get out and see the ponies a little bit. Brita and Kaitlyn got to go to a lesson at OF (complete with grids plus a SUPER fun twisty course) and then I actually got to *touch* my horse, and see her up close rather than just from across the fence line. Exciting stuff, people!
'oh yes, i remember you, kinda' - isabel |
At least she seems to be otherwise enjoying her vacation. Sure there are plenty of people who could ride her and keep her in work (and might really truly enjoy doing so), but eh... she worked hard this year. A month plus off won't do any harm, and we can ease back into it together. Hopefully after tomorrow's check up with the specialist, I'll have a better idea of *when* that might actually start happening!
new fun gear! |
Just trying it on in my living room, it's quite apparent that it is a VERY different beast from my Tipperary haha. So I'm pretty pumped to actually try it out on the cross country field in the not so very distant future (maybe). Will definitely let you know more about what I think of it at that point.
Oh and here's another cat handling the stairs in a fashion very similar to me. Because why not, it's Monday, who doesn't need cat gifs?
Lol! Where has the that cat gif BEEN the last few weeks?!?!
ReplyDeletehaha it's been holding out on us, that's for sure
DeletePardon me while I wipe the drool off my face. I love that vest!
ReplyDeletei'm pretty excited about it!!! will share more details (and better pics) at some point eventually
DeleteGlad you got to have a visit with Izzy! You guys will pick right back up where you left off when you're all healed up. And I can't wait to hear what you think of the vest! I definitely want to upgrade within the next year too.
ReplyDeleteso far i'm impressed by it! but of course the true test will actually be riding in it, so we'll see. a lot of the reviews said it was too stiff and uncomfortable but that hasn't been my sense in just trying it on (tho it is quite stiffer and more substantial than the tipperary, which is to be expected)
DeleteLove the vest! And the cat gif. You were saving that weren't you?
ReplyDeleteI thought about you this weekend: the Red was ridiculous. Totes not about fwd movement and reared. Followed by another higher rear that was near flipping. So I half bailed. Managed to only sprain my ankle. Very lucky bc was not particularly graceful. But then I thought of you and your trailer viciously knocking you off and breaking your leg. So crazy.
oh no!!!!! your poor ankle!!! and naughty Red pony!! :( i hope the sprain isn't particularly severe (aren't sprains sometimes worse than breaks?!?) and that you feel better soon
DeleteOMG that cat, my Monday is complete
ReplyDeletesomething about that spotted belly, right? too cute lol
DeleteLOVE the vest! So great seeing you as always :)
ReplyDeletei'm so pumped about the vest - i'll have to bring it in so you can take a looksie
DeleteInterested to hear what you have to say about the HH. I've heard a couple things about the armpit area rubbing a little, but that seems to depend on conformation. ;) It's pretty!
ReplyDeleteyea i saw some reviews along those lines too, but like you said it seemed to depend on build. just wearing it around the house it doesn't feel particularly restrictive through my chest, armpits, shoulders or anything. so we will see!
DeleteVery pretty vest, and looks like lighter weight than the Outlyne I have. Glad you got to see your girl.
ReplyDeleteit's quite heavy - maybe i'll have to weigh it somehow. it's a very substantial vest. we'll see how i like it in action!
DeleteEven though my ankle isn't broken, that cat gif is a pretty accurate portrayal of my Monday.
ReplyDeletehaha yup, pretty much!
DeleteYay for pony visits!
ReplyDelete:D
DeleteWoohoo swag, maybe you should wear it when you navigate stairs ;)
ReplyDeletehaha i think i need more than just a vest for stairs - maybe bubble wrap?!? lol
DeleteI've half thoughtttt about getting vest- have seen some people wear it for endurance but I haven't really looked too hard tbh. Glad you got some mare time and hope you are healing up okay!
ReplyDeleteif you're interested i'll probably be selling my tipperary at some point or another ;)
DeleteOooh, can't wait to hear your full thoughts on the vest!
ReplyDeletei can't wait to try it out!
DeleteExcited to hear about the vest! I still have a Tipperary (with a Point Two), and have a hard time letting it go... Glad to see you're out and about!
ReplyDeleteyea i've kinda been very blah about replacing my tipperary, until i saw the price points for some of these vests that are way safer (and have family members who are more than happy to gift these safety devices lol). hopefully the vest is awesome in action!
DeleteThat cat gif is amazing! Fingers crossed about the scratches, what a pain those are.
ReplyDeleteomg such a pain. SUCH a pain. ugh. poor mare :(
DeleteLove the cat, love the vest. :-)
ReplyDeletemeeeeee tooo, on both counts lol
DeleteScratches are annoying! I loved the cat gif lol
ReplyDeletethe scratches are driving me crazy - and i'm not even there to see them. can't imagine how sick the poor mare is of getting doctored ugh
DeleteOoooh I love your new cc vest, so spiffy! I LOLed at the cat gif XD
ReplyDeletei'm so excited to try it out :D
DeleteYou look so happy in the picture with your girl. Even with the crutches. And congrats on the new gear. #SafetyFirst (and Happy Thanksgiving!)
ReplyDeletehappy thanksgiving to you too! and yea, spending time with my little mare is the perfect antidote to any sad feelings about the crutches haha
DeleteHaha! That cat is awesome! I am now picturing you going down stairs exactly like that.
ReplyDeletelolz i am WAY less graceful hahaha
